Digital Camera Skills Workshop

Many owners of the digital s.l.r. camera do not know how to get the very best from their equipment. The purpose of these workshops is to take you into the field and show you how you should be using the equipment to get superb quality images.

During these workshops I will attempt to teach you the following techniques and skills:

• How to avoid Camera Shake.
• Make the best choice of lens and focal length.
• Exposure modes (Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and in particular Manual Mode).
• Exposure Assessment and use of the Histogram.
• How to choose the most appropriate aperture.
• Understanding and previewing "Depth of field".
• Choosing the most appropriate ISO setting
• How to use “White Balance”
• Whether to shoot Raw or Jpeg.
• Simple Composition.
